Namely that after installing Ubuntu 12.04 and going to log in, I am met with a frozen slate of a desktop in which nothing loads (at longest I've sat for 30 minutes, reading, whilst nothing changes) and only the mouse moves.
Its not a blank screen, its the desktop that one is normally greeted with, just with nothing loaded.

Ubuntu was the distribution that shot to fame not only because of its simplicity to use and install, but also because of it's Free CD project. However, Canonical has now decided to stop it's Free-for-all offering and will now offer free CDs only to those who are in need of it.

I installed Ubuntu 12.10 on a Thinkpad x120e that was running Windows 7. All I get is "Operating System not found" when I boot.
