Greetings,
Need some information on how to setup the router.
I don't know if it is a standard way, but below is how my ISP provides Internet access.
I have a LAN cable coming in and the LAN connection is configured as follows -
IP - 169.254.xx.xx
subnet - 255.255.0.0
gateway - 192.168.0.1
DNS - some IPs
And then there is a PPPoE connection that uses a username and password and (probably) get
I have a Dynex DX-WGRTR v1000 router which I use hardwired without the wireless turned on. Since my 12.04 clean install I have had internet since but recently when I went to access the router itself, I can't access it nor can I ping it. The access IP address for the router is 192.168.2.1 which was set by the manufacturer.
I'm trying to access & configure my wireless router's options.
The wireless router is a Linksys E2000 and the default gateway's IP address is 192.168.33.1
I've gotten into the router setup by simply typing this address into Internet Explorer and using the particular router's default username and password.
How would I go about getting say 10.0.1.100 and 10.0.0.100 to both have access to the same internet, but not see each other.
My Topology can change to make this happen.
Currently I have a router/gateway which connects to the internet via LAN cable.
This router at the moment is basically stock setup, apart from a static IP (10.0.0.1), which is what my 10.0.0.x subnet uses to connect to the net...
My son has a problem not getting a cosistant wifi signal in his bedroom so he uses another router wired to the gateway. The problem I have is that when I connect to the gateway his router issues me my IP address and I cannot access the internet.
Hey guys,
I'm having a very weird problem with my Ubuntu 10.10 Beta. The internet was functioning properly when all of a sudden, my two browsers (Chrome and firefox) stopped connecting to the internet. After numerous tries to connect, I get internet access for around 10 seconds, and then it just stops again.
have a DSL modem setup with 192.168.1.1 local IP. Everything working fine. Then have a linksys wireless router that I have connected to the DSL modem. I have enabled DHCP on the wireless router, and have assigned 192.168.107.1 IP address to this router, with 255.255.255.0 as the mask.
So the setup looks like this:
There is a main WLAN-router/modem which is connected to the internet and serves the lower floor with WLAN. Now upstairs I have a second WLAN-router/modem (I will call it router two from now on). A normal ethernet cable is plugged in in router two in one of the four ethernet ports and also in one of the four ethernet ports in router one.
This is a long ongoing problem. Maybe someone has an idea. I have an ordinary dsl router with wlan at home. I cannot use the wlan under Linux. nm says I am connected (see screenshot), but there is no internet access. I have never been able to connect to the internet using the wifi at home under Linux. Works fine under Windows, but I hardly ever use Win. Recently I got an Android phone.
