I installed ubuntu on my T500 laptop a couple of days ago and everything was working fine. Today I plugged a usb keyboard and mouse directly into 2 of the usb ports. I then powered up. Everything was fine during the boot process I used the usb keyboard to select the boot option first in the windows - ubuntu choice and then in grub to move between the options and select one.
Intel will not support Linux in its upcoming chip for laptops and tablets. That leaves Windows 8 as the only operating system that will run on the Clover Trail Atom chip.
To be clear, Linux can run on Clover Trail because it is an x86 chip. But it’s unlikely any device maker will want to go to the trouble to do it.
Hello,
After using other Linux Distros a couple of years ago, I decided to Dual Boot my Desktop and Laptop with Ubuntu and Windows 7.
The installation went perfect and everything is installed.
However I have one issue. Every now and then, when I execute an application that uses a considerable ammount of CPU, my keyboard is Disabled.
I've read about how Ubuntu is incorporating Amazon results in Dash searches to make money. I know of lots of websites that simply provide a link that one can click to get to Amazon.com. Then any purchases that get made support the entity from which you linked.
This would be a simple way to support Ubuntu. Anybody know if this Link option is available to support Ubuntu and where I can find it?
Hi all... New to the community and Ubuntu here. I've recently set up dual boot for Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) on my Toshiba Satellite L775D laptop. While almost everything is working fine I have 2 nagging issues I'm hoping someone can help with:
Issue 1: Somewhere around 50% of the time I boot into Ubuntu, the keyboard does not work at all.
Hello,
I'm close to giving up my plans of installing 12.04, because I can't get my wlan chip to work.
It's a Broadcom b43225, and I've tried lots of things already.
The same chip works under Bodhi Linux 1.4, which is based on Ubuntu (currently 10.04).
I have a Microsoft wireless multimedia keyboard and when i try to assign the logout command to the logout key i have in my keyboard, the key won't get detected as an accelerator. Can someone help me out?
The sleep key next to logout works fine.
I also tested this on windows and the key works, so its obviously not faulty (hardware-wise)
Im using Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS with gnome 3.4
I've been using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and am happy with it, so I don't see any benefit for me to move up to the latest version, Ubuntu 11.10.
I had two questions that I was hoping someone could address for me.
1. I saw that Ubuntu 10.04 LTS is supported for three years, but I couldn't find what date support for this OS will end?
2.
