Hello!
I have a computer running ubuntu 10.04,and want share some folders on it.The operating system is on one hdd and i have other 2 hdd in RAID1.Everything looks and acts ok until I try to share a folder.
I can see all sharings, but I get access denied everytime I try to write logged in as user and not as root no matter the location of the folder (Raid or users home).
Hi guys
I am trying to share files without samba, at work all i do is right click on file select share and it does everything and at home have same layout except at home i cant share files, when i right click on a file at home i have (Basic, Emblems, Permissions and Notes)
also when i go to system -- > Administration i dont see share files options either.
I'm having trouble since 2 days with autofs.
I have a Solaris 11 Server.
There I share the folder /export/home with the following command:
share -o rw -d „Freigabe von /export/home“ /export/home
My Client is a Fedora 17.
On Fedora I created the folder /ahome, where all home folders should be mounted with autofs.
I gave permissions 777 to /ahome.
I've got a data drive mounted on my Ubuntu 12.04. I've setup a samba and shared the mounted drive. When I go to my windows machine, I can see the shared drive.
I just tried sharing the old My Videos file folder on my 500GB Windows drive and it shows that it's shared but when I try to access it over the network it's saying I don't have permission. I checked the box to allow guests access. Still no sharing. How do I accomplish this?
In my Home Folder it shows as 500GB device with the eject symbol next to it.
I want to share a drive/folder over the internet from my Debian machine back home, such that I can mount it on my Macbook when I am on the move. Basically I want to store my music at home and just access it over the network, instead of having two separate libraries, one on each computer.
I want to share my home folder with my Windows machine, but I have no idea how to. I can't find any up-to-date guides on Google, so how do I share my home directory?
Hi All,
I used to have a thread in this forum bookmarked for creating/sharing a folder on a network for ALL USER access. I vaguely recall that I could create a folder, and then run a CHOWN and CHMOD command to make it accessible by everyone.
I've got my music folder shared via the "sharing" tab in nautilus folder properties, and I have no trouble accessing it from another computer on my home network. What I want to do is to let my friends access this remotely. What's the easiest way to do this? I tried setting up an SSH server, and even managed to forward the ports, but it shares all my folders, and I only want to share one.
