[ubuntu] new router, no internet

http://ubuntuforums.org – So I am having this problem because I don't know anything about routers and I don't know anything about linux. When I first upgraded to 9.10 the network manager wouldn't connect to my DSL so I used the pppoeconf ( I don't know what it does just that it works now). I got a netgear wireless router for my windows netbook and was able to set it up for that wirelessly, but ubuntu doesn't seem to acknowledge the router (wired). I tried running ppoeconf again and it said something about there already being a ppoe process. Could someone please help me out? (HowTos)

I'm a first time Linux user and have just dual-booted my Advent Milano netbook. I am running XP SP3 as well as Ubuntu Netbook Edition.

We have a small office network with DSL and a Netgear WNR-2000 wireless router acting as a DHCP server. There are nine devices connected to the router, wirelessly and wired. Whenever a Mac computer tries to connect, it's unsuccessful until we restart the router.

I am using my MSI wind U100 running Ubuntu 10.4 netbook remix, I have 2 networks, One of them always works and one barley ever works, The first one (That always works)Called Aaron's Computer, This router is in the room in which ubuntu was installed, And the first network ever connected to.

Sounds straight-forward, and I'd have no problem doing this setting up my router with DD-WRT as a bridge. However, the WiFi connection is an ad-hoc network using ICS through my Windows Mobile Verizon phone and the router won't connect to it.

I'm having trouble accessing my home wireless network through ubuntu - it was working fine last night, but now it inexplicably stopped working. I can connect to the router fine, but not to the internet.

My home network: Cable Modem : WebSTAR DPC2100R2 Wireless router: Netgear WNR1000 PC1 (winxp) : 3G ram, 2.6GHz Intel, Asus 5PB Wifi delxe, running Windows XP SP3 and connecting wirelessly to router/internet. PC2 (linux) : 1G ram, 1GHz AMD Athlon CPU, 3Com 3c905 100BaseTX Nic, connected by ethernet cable to router, onto which i have just installed lubuntu 12.10.

Hi all. I recently installed ubuntu netbook remix 10.04 on my little brother's netbook. For some reason, the wireless will connect at every router I have tried except my home router. I'm guessing it must be a setting or something on the router? The windows laptops in the house have no trouble connecting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have internet access through 3G/4G USB dongle direct into my Ubuntu 10.04 box. Works great! Now I would like to share this connection out through my Netgear WGR614 wireless (and wired) router. Any clues?
