Hello everyone.
I'm quite new to linux and ubuntu.
Hi,
I am new to linux and ubuntu.
I just installed 12.04.1 on my old Dell XPS 600. Everything worked great except I am unable to connect to my wifi.
When I go to Network settings it says "Wireless Firmware Missing". I've tried Additional Drivers, but the only drivers that come up are for my video card.
sudo lshw -class network gave me the following info...
Greetings All,
I am brand spanking new to Fedora 17 (I installed it about 4 hours ago). It is a on a 2011 (8.1) Macbook Pro. I installed off a LiveCD that came with the August issue of Linux Pro Magazine.
Install went fine. II blew away the OSX partition, and the machine is now F17 only.
On first reboot, it said that the wireless was missing firmware.
Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I am new to Ubuntu, and I need help.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my Dell Inspiron 6400. Everything went fine with the installation, but there is no wireless. When I hover over the wireless logo, it says "Wireless Networks device not ready (firmware missing)".
When I go to click on NETWORK in the System Settings menu, the only option I have is Network Proxy. The Wired Connection and Wireless connection options are gone.
Also, can someone tell me how to get the firmware for a wireless connection? This is an acer Aspire 3690 running 12.04LTS.
I'm fairly new to Ubuntu, thanks for any help you can provide!
I disconnected Wireless network from the network drop down menu to test the wired network. Now I cannot find any way of reconnecting Wireless. Symptoms are:
Network drop down menu says "Wireless is disabled by hardware switch"
SystemSettings/Network/Wireless lists the Wireless MAC address, and says "Wireless Unavailable".
When I go to click on NETWORK in the system settings menu, the only option I have is Network Proxy. The Wired Connection and Wireless connection options are gone. Also, can someone tell me how to get the firmware for a wireless connection? This is an acer Aspire 3690 running 12.04. I'm fairly new to Unbintu, thanks for any help you can provide!
I have recently done a clean install of Ubuntu 10.10 on my eee B202. I have a few little niggling problems that I am trying to sort out. One of them is connecting to my wireless network.
For a little more secturity, I have my wireless network set up such that it does not broadcast the SSID.
I have a Latitude D610 computer. I just downloaded Ubuntu a few days ago, and it works great except for the fact that I can't connect to wireless. Anyone help????
It keeps telling me "firmware missing."
