I have recently downloaded ubuntu14.04 for my acer laptop (it's some 8 years old) and it works well but the only problem is I can't connect to internet in any way... When i click on the network icon on the top right it says "No network devices found" in the options and i've looked for many ways to try and fix this problem but none of them seem to work.
yesterday my WiFi connection disappeared and the Network Manager said that the WiFi was switched off by a hardware switch, which was not the case. I restarted the computer many times pressing the hardware switch, but nothing helped. then by mistake I deleted the Network Manager by running
sudo apt-get remove --purge network-manager-gnome network-manager
I have installed Ubuntu 13.04 on my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook. Due to problem with WIFI speed, I changed the network manager, but didn't solved the problem. Now I have removed both the network managers and cant connect to the internet.
Hey guys, i was fed up after i can't connect to wifi using ubuntu. the problem happened after my router is being replaced to a new one because the old one got struck by lightning. good thing i dual-boot my laptop so i can access the internet using Windows 7 now.
i use the default network manager to connect to wifi before, but it all seem to be failed after the replacement of router.
