http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, After googling around, I followed some of the steps I'd seen in this forum to get the usb adapter working. lsusb Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc. WNA3100(v1) Wireless-N 300 [Broadcom BCM43231] I have standard 11.10 that I upgraded, arch is i686 I downloaded ndiswrapper using the Ubuntu Software Center. I didn't go to sourceforge and get the latest source and make install it. I went to the directory where I had the driver that I had downloaded $sudo ndiswrapper -i bcmwlhigh5.inf $sudo modprobe ndiswrapper $ ndiswrapper -l bcmwlhigh5 : driver installed device (0846:90 (Hardware)

I'm useing a netgear WNA 3100 USB adapter. I got it to work after alot of work and everything was fine.

But yesterday there was some kind of update and i'm sure it said something about ndiswrapper..

Hello all, I am in a predicament getting Ubuntu to recognize my USB wireless adapter. When I entered "lsusb" I got the following:

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc. WNA3100(v1) Wireless-N 300 [Broadcom BCM43231]

Of course, this was for the one particular hardware.

Ok my dell's internal wifi card works fine, but i bought a usb adapter to obtain a stronger signal but i cant seem to get it to work and ditch my internal all togather, it has the proper drivers.

After following the instructions I installed the proper drivers and ndiswrapper program, etc., a month ago.

But last night I updated to the latest distro and this broke my system: it can no longer detect my wireless USB adapter.

The blue light works but there's no connexion between the system and the USB adapter. I've tried several different workin USB ports to no avail.

ndiswrapper -l brings up autorun:invalid driver bcmn43xx64:driver installed device (0846:9020) present

is this wireless adapter working correctly as iwlist scan just says lo interface doesnt suppor

Hi guys... at first, sorry for my no good english, but i'll try to explain at well!! ;)

I've just installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my friend pc and i'm triyng to install the usb Netgear WNA3100 on pc... first time I tried to install the bcmwlhigh5 drivers, but they don't work...

I installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS server on an old PC. This PC has a wireless card (Netgear wg311v3). This computer now has no access to Internet so whatever I do I transfer it from another PC. I tried to install a driver for Windows with the help of ndiswrapper but with no success.

What I did is that I downloaded the source file of ndiswrapper from here and tried to compile it as instructed from here

Hey guys. I've researched around and couldn't find a working solution for this driver install.

Ndiswrapper installs the latest driver but it doesn't detect it at all.

I ran lsusb and this line is there: Bus 002 Device 004: ID 1385:4251 Netgear, Inc WG111T (no firmware)

Please offer suggestions on what to do. The drivers are the latest ones.

I identified the device ID of my USB Wi-Fi dongle...

[root@localhost benny]# lsusb Bus 001 Device 002: ID 1385:4251 Netgear, Inc WG111T (no firmware)

I downloaded a recommended driver and proceeded to install it on ndiswrapper, then I checked it was successful...

[root@localhost ndis5]# ndiswrapper -l athfmwdl : driver installed device (1385:4251) present netwg11t : driver installed
