[ubuntu] Netgear WG111T not working on Precise?

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey all!!! Wow its good to be back on Ubuntu but its inevitable that there will be issues and sadly they have arisen early this time around! I'm having trouble getting my Netgear WG111T Wireless-G USB adapter working on Precise and I have been having trouble getting Ubuntu to detect it or install any drivers. I have been able to find fixes for older versions of Ubuntu but they have become obsolete with the release of Precise. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! iMurshaq P.S. The computer is an eMachines EL-1333G-01w if that is necessary. (Hardware)

Hey guys. I've researched around and couldn't find a working solution for this driver install.

Ndiswrapper installs the latest driver but it doesn't detect it at all.

I ran lsusb and this line is there: Bus 002 Device 004: ID 1385:4251 Netgear, Inc WG111T (no firmware)

Please offer suggestions on what to do. The drivers are the latest ones.

Okay, I've searched the internet far and wide and tried almost every fix I can think of. Maybe you guys know one I don't so here's my shot at the forums.

According to the developer, there have been many bug fixes and improvements at the Woof-level since Precise 5.4.3 was released, not to mention a lot package fixes and upgrades.

Of course, this was for the one particular hardware.

Hi!! I want to download the 12.04 repository to my HDD in order to have an offline Ubuntu repo. I checked at http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/ and the whole precise repository precise-backports/30-Nov-2012 05:55 - precise-proposed/03-Dec-2012 05:37 - precise-security/30-Nov-2012 05:55 - precise-updates/30-Nov-2012 05:55 - precise/is only ~10 GB. Is this correct?

I am running a desktop computer with and Asus motherboard and AMD Phenom II x 4 processor. It is a 65 bit machine. I installed Ubuntu 12.10 last week and am still trying to get the wireless usb adapter working. I installed a driver for this device using the Windows Wireless Drivers App (ndisgtk). The driver is bcmwlhigh63 which I got from the Netgear site.
