I've bought a Asus EEEpc 1005 PX and trired to install Ubuntu netbook. But I found that wifi is not working. It's not detecting the wifi cards.
I tried ifconfig, and it is showing me,
ETH0 and L0 only.
When I tried LSPCI it's showing me
Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Atheros AR8132/L1c Gigabit ethernet adapter (rev c0)
Network Controller: Atheros Communication inc.
i am not able to get my wifi working consistently in ubuntu. At times when wifi is switched on in windows and I switch to ubuntu, wifi networks are recognized. But if i try and turn on wifi in ubuntu, there is no change. I get the message that the wireless is disabled by the hardware switch and indeed I see no blue light to indicate that the wifi is on.
I am currently using 11.10 on my Compaq Presario V3130 machine. When recently I tried to use wireless on my laptop i found that it is not working as the option of "Enable Wireless" is not highlighted in the network manager. My wifi switch is on and earlier I had used wifi with 11.04. Please help on this as don't know much about Ubuntu.

Hi,
My netbook is a Sony Vaio vpcm121ax running on Netbook Remix. After I downloaded the recent updates my WiFi connection stopped working. I ran lshw -C metwork and it gave this message:
