Hi.
I have a Dell Studio 1715 laptop, which comes with bluetooth, webcam, fingerprint reader, everything. I enjoyed ubuntu a lot in this laptop.... until I met this problem.
I bought a bluetooth laser mouse, which didn't work for me before. Can't remember the brand... now it happens all over again with a brand new mouse, so it can't be the mouse itself.
My Ubuntu12.04 often appears stuck - mouse, keyboard, all did not respond, everything stopped. I tried all methods to prove that indeed is a very serious problem. I know many people are like me, unfortunately, this problem still exist in 12.10.
I think the two most suspicious:
1 mouse. I do not use the mouse (I use the laptop touchpad), and never had problems.
I am currently having a problem with a fresh new installation of Precise.
I have a microsoft 5000 bluetooth mouse. After some time, i got it to pair with my laptop (Ubuntu 12.04 64). BUT the pointer doesn't move and the buttons work only marginally. The mouse is a laser mouse so it should work well on any surface- this one isn't working at all..
Is there something I'm missing? Has anyone else had this problem? did I really get the one bad mouse of the bunch??
On my desktop, I've got an IBM model M keyboard with a trackpoint built into it (attached via the PS2 mouse port). I also have a wireless USB mouse. My problem is that the mouse settings required for each are different.
This is a problem that has been plaguing me for a long time now, it is the problem of the USB mouse lock up.
I started ubuntu and my mouse isn't working. Even in log in screen. If I shake my mouse all the time while booting then my mouse will work.
I think the mouse peripheral hasn't been detected and that's why mouse isn't working.
So is there any way to fix this problem
OR
Can I refresh peripherals by using a command in Terminal ?
The mouse wheel becomes unresponsive if the mouse is moving (turning) simultaneously. In terms of game play... you can't switch weapons while moving the mouse. You must stop moving the mouse in order to be able to switch weapons.
I heard that this was a know bug an easy fix... but that was months ago. I forgot where I heard this.
I finally got around to updating my OS to 12.04.
I selected a PS/2 style mouse in Sysinstall and tested the mouse daemon and everything worked fine. I use an Intel notebook that has a pointing stick, a mouse pad, and a USB mouse. All three work perfectly before starting X. I have configured X to run KDE automatically when starting X. That is where the problem is.
