I'm interested in whatever optimizations have been done behind the scenes with the Ubuntu Netbook Remix, but I hate the interface. Can I install UNR and get regular gnome and the regular Ubuntu interface? I know that it might be slower, but I'm used to that, as my standard laptop isn't really all that powerful. Or would it be be better for me to just install the regular ubuntu on my system?

Hi, I'm using Ubuntu Netbook remix on an eeePC 1005HA and for some reason double and triple tapping don't work. It's very strange to me because it works perfectly on a very crappy acer laptop I have... Does anyone have any idea how I can enable it/why it doesn't work?
It's getting very annoying since I can't middle click anymore without a mouse.
I have an Asus 1005HA-V netbook running Jaunty with XFCE4. I didn't know until just a moment ago that when I switched from Gnome to XFCE, I somehow lost sound and volume control. I don't know if the driver got deleted, and I don't know how to check. Any ideas are welcome, thanks.
I have an EeePC 1005HA running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10 that I'm trying to lock down for a school setting. I don't want the students to be able to turn off the wireless (Fn+F2) or put the netbook to sleep (Fn+F1). I can disable the individual keys (F1, F2, etc.) using a keymod script, but I can't disable the key combination. Any help would be appreciated with this! Thanks! :)
Greetings

Hi all,
I have recently bought a Sony Vaio Netbook VPCW12S1E, with Windows 7 Starter installed on it.
I would like to install Ubuntu's Netbook Remix on it. I have made the bootable usb stick, but the problem is I can't find how to enter it's bios to make the netbook startup from usb.
