I have a Trim-Slice Value using Ubuntu 11.04. It comes with a Ralink RT5370 802.11n WiFi dongle.
When I plug the dongle in, it does not 'just work'; ifconfig and iwconfig do not show the device, though lsusb does show the device listed:
phrogz@trimslice:~$ lsusb | grep Ralink
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp.
Hello everyone,
i have the following problem:
since my last ubuntu installation (12.04) on my laptop (Lenovo S205) i encountered very slow download-speed (around 64KBit maximum) through WLAN.
I searched for the reason for this and found out, that ubuntu seems to have some issues with Ralink wireless adapters.
I found a solution to this problem which sounded reasonable: use Ralinks own drivers:
I have a new HP Envy dv6-7315tx laptop. I installed Ubuntu 12.10 (64 bit), which went smoothly after switching the BIOS to legacy mode, and has completely replaced Windows. However, there are no proprietary drivers listed in jockey at all, and the WiFi/bluetooth card doesn't work.
Hi,
not sure if I'm right here for installation but if not, please copy this post to the right place.
My fedora 16 System has found my USB WLAN Stick like this:
lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 028: ID 050d:935a Belkin Components F6D4050 N150 Enhanced Wireless Network Adapter v1000 [Ralink RT2870]
All works fine andI can use it to surf over WLAN my LAN/WLAN as well.
Hi !I recently changed some components on my desktop computer -almost everything- and I'm trying to install Crunchbang as I did with my netbook that worked perfect using a WiFi usb adapter (but that I no longer have), but I encounter 2 main problems:1. WiFi Adapter:I have a Alfa UBDo-nt8 wich has inside a Ralink-RT3070 chipset and when I do lsusb I get that is a Ralink Technology, Corp.
I've just bought a GEETEK Hercules USB Wlan adapter, which has the Ralink rt3072 chipset. The Connection manager can find wireless APs, but it won't connect to any of those. Also, aircrack-ng does not find any APs while scanning. What should I do to fix this?
My English is not the best..I just read some threads with the toppic 'WLAN does not work' etc. crossover, but I still does not know what to do realy. My Netbook does not detect the available networks by wlan option (wired connection works fine).Hope I find help.. Linux is quite (few month) new for me, but with other linux distributions I haven't had such Problems..
Hey,
I'm a new user of Ubuntu and I think I need some help but let me mention before that I got this up working on a Debian system.
My current kernel version is $ uname -r
2.6.32-27-generic
The problem is that my wlan card is not working any more such that my system freezes every time I enable networking with the hardware switch on my laptop.
I'm using the MSI Wind U100 with the realtek rtl8101e WLAN chip, and I can't get it to connect to the internet.
I installed ndiswrapper and the appropriate Windows XP driver .inf files but it never works. Ndiswrapper often returns the error "cannot see hardware" or something similar.
I'm running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04.
