hello,
i followed this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1288865 and successfully installed 'dkms' and 'bcmwl-kernel-source' via usb, in hope that Broadcom will be detected.
Howdy linux gurus!
I made the switch! I've been encouraging others to do so, also, and.just got my girlfriend to install Linux Mint 9 (based off Ubuntu 10.04) on her new netbook. Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble getting the wireless to work. That is, the wireless was working for a while, but recently stopped and I can't figure out why (or how to fix it). Ethernet cables still work fine.
I'm having trouble getting my computer to recognise any bluetooth device, including my Wiimote and cell phone. I have a USB Bluetooth dongle that appears to be working. When I plug it in, I get the bluetooth symbol in my device tray.
Hi,
dual boot W7/Ubuntu 12.04 on an Asus
Followed the thread below to get Ethernet working n Ubuntu (already had WiFi working): http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2050126
Then tried to add Aircraft-ng (but stop to go work on W7/eclipse) and I had also run the 426 updates stacked since the last time I open my Ubuntu.
Hello everyone,
I have recently installed ubuntu 10.04 LTS on a gateway netbook lt303u. My wireless works perfectly, but for some reason, connecting directly to the ethernet port does not (it doesn't even light up when connected to the laptop).
I have tested the cable on another computer to confirm the internet is working. I have checked that my MAC address is allowed on the network.
Prior to Ubuntu 9.10, I could never get the external microphone to be recognized for the EeePC 701SD to be recognized. Even when I plugged a microphone into the 1/8 in. jack, it still used the built-in microphone. I tried all the solutions I could find.
I tried the guide here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1038949&page=11
That did not work.
CNET Pro200WL.
I can't get this Network card to work. It is detected, but simply it won't work.
Led on router connection blinking constantly at one-second rate.
I checked this thread but nothing worked

Wow, this one feels like a rite of passage for my linux skills. It took lots of time, but I got it.
Many thanks to all who contributed info over the years on these odd chipsets.
The core of the solution is here:
