Hi , I'm quite new to Ubuntu, I recently broke my laptop and in order to get back online cheaply I bought a second hand netbook. I installed Ubuntu (ubuntu 10.10 netbook remix)in order to speed it up a bit as windows 7 was too much for the 1gb ram.
Hey guys, i recently installed the 9.10 Netbook Remix on my netbook, but the new menu just runs dog slow on my netbook. Is there anyway i can get a regular looking desktop while still keeping the Netbook remix version on my netbook?
I'm planning on purchasing an Eee Netbook after the holidays and want to put linux on it. I've run Ubuntu for a couple years now and really like it but I want to make sure that I get the most out of the netbook. I've been doing some research and I'm not exactly sure what to do.

Hello everyone! I want to install UNR on my netbook, but after switching it on it immediately boots Windows, not even showing BIOS info. When I press power on button, the logo of Windows appears on the black background (as usual) and starts booting it. I have no access to BIOS. How should I fix it?
Hello! Hoping I can get some help here.
About 2 years ago I got a netbook - it's my primary computer. A friend recommended the 10.04 Ubuntu Netbook Remix as an OS, and I love it so much that it made me a die-hard Linux fan in less than a day - and that's with having hardware compatibility issues! It is so intuitive, so simple, so absolutely perfect for the way I use my computer.
I'm having problems getting my wireless card to work on my netbook after installing Ubuntu netbook. I'm using a HP Mini1000 with a broadcom bcm4312.
I've followed the directions on this page for those without internet access: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...ernet%20access
I successfully install everything, but when I go to the hardware drivers, the drivers do not actually appear.
I'm interested in whatever optimizations have been done behind the scenes with the Ubuntu Netbook Remix, but I hate the interface. Can I install UNR and get regular gnome and the regular Ubuntu interface? I know that it might be slower, but I'm used to that, as my standard laptop isn't really all that powerful. Or would it be be better for me to just install the regular ubuntu on my system?
Hi all. I recently installed ubuntu netbook remix 10.04 on my little brother's netbook. For some reason, the wireless will connect at every router I have tried except my home router. I'm guessing it must be a setting or something on the router? The windows laptops in the house have no trouble connecting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-Justin
