Hi, I have an Eee900 series netbook with Lucid.
Everything was working fine, but eventually something happened last night, with the netbook hibernated, and after an upgrade (if I remember correctly, also including a kernel version, always within 10.04).
Now what happens is that no matter what I do I don't seem able to connect to the internet.
I am trying to figure out what is the utility or "wrapper" that helps backups to only run when load is below a certain amount.
I remember reading about this somewhere but I can't recall....
Basically, we have a cron job (maldet) that uses a very high amount of disk io ("find" command) and it is causing iowait% to go to 99% for the duration of the run.
I got my Starling System 76 netbook today. Started it up and had good luck with my wifi. I saw that updates were available and I did them. They took about 14 minutes and I don't believe I did upgrade to 9.10 Karmic. I am still at 9.04 Jaunty.
Welcome to Club#!, monica! Have a drink on us.Like you, I started with Linux on a netbook; in my case, it was a Dell netbook that came with "Dellbuntu", which I tired of quickly. I tried a few of the earlier "netbook remixes" before I found CrunchBang, and have been happily using it since the days when it was based on Ubuntu 9.04.
Hi to all. I few days ago i install CrunchBang 11 "Waldorf" on my sisters almost 7 years Acer Aspire 3023. This laptop has AMD Sempron 3000+ processor, ATI mobility radeon X700 graphic card, 512 RAM and broadcom WIFI. Everything works from the start, and the WIFI after some restarts started to work fine. My problem is that some time the desktop locks.

I have a eeePC1000HE and use a 24" LCD screen (Samsung P2450H) in the office.
The netbook screen works fine on its own. But as a dual display, my netbook screen is too small (800 x 600) and while the picture fills my large screen but has the wrong resolution.
I'm using the 10.04 Netbook Remix on an Asus EeePC.
This is my first post here, and my second day with Linux.
I have recently stumbled upon a great piece of software called Unison. The program, as you may know, is used to synchronize files between computers. It began working just fine, but recently it is subject to an annoying crash or something or other.
I begin by choosing my profile, which happens to be a new profile.
