Hi,I am using Statler Openbox in my eeepc 1000H. Things were great until an upgrade about one month ago, when the fan control were a bit wrong. Now the fan is always on, a little bit noisy.
I have a Compaq 110c Mini Netbook. It has Karmic on it right now. The internal mic is not working. I have tested it using sound recorder and it doesn't pick up anything. I do not know if it worked on Jaunty, as I installed Jaunty a few days ago and then upgraded to Karmic. Any ideas?
After doing some extensive research, and a lot of trial and error with my MSI Wind L2100 Notebook. I have finally figured out how get Ubuntu Karmic installed and working GREAT!
I suggest the 32-bit version of Karmic, but the 64-bit works as well.
Make sure you have a wired internet connection in order to get the wireless working!
To enable microphone support on Karmic, add the package "linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic and reboot. Then, go to Terminal and type "alsamixer". Press "Tab" once on the keyboard and turn the Front Mic volume all the way up. Then press control...
I have a stable, well-updated karmic (standard distro, not remix) on my ASUS EEPC1005HA. Had it since karmic was released, and before that had jaunty. Until recently, no problem with WiFi.
