Hello, I'm considering buying an Asus eee pc 1005HA-H.
I would like to if things like Wireless, Blue tooth, Hot keys, Web cam will work out of the box, and if not what configuration steps are necessary.
I'm interested in whatever optimizations have been done behind the scenes with the Ubuntu Netbook Remix, but I hate the interface. Can I install UNR and get regular gnome and the regular Ubuntu interface? I know that it might be slower, but I'm used to that, as my standard laptop isn't really all that powerful. Or would it be be better for me to just install the regular ubuntu on my system?
When I right click the menu and choose a file from "Recent Files", an information window pops up saying "failed to execute child process "firefox-bin" (No such file or directory)". The file was downloaded from the internet and should have been stored in the downloads folder.Any help would be much appreciated.
Id like to include some miscellaneous files in my remix. For instance, id I have file1.txt in "Documents" in my home directory and Pic1.jpg in the "Pictures" folder and I'd like to have them be avaiable in the "Files" folder in the home directory on my remix.
I think the key might be in the %post section of the kickstart file I'm using for configuration.
I have had proprietary driver installed for a long time, and card works great.Today I tried to open Nvidia X Server settings, and I get the above error message,,plus..."failed to execute child process "/usr/bin/nvidia-settings" (No such file or directory) Any ideas to find it?
I wrote the following
#!/bin/bash
cd ~/bin/red5-1.0.0
gnome-terminal --working-directory=. -x red5.sh
red5.sh is the script to run (this is java written media server).
My script above opens new terminal but with error message
There was an error creating the child process for this terminal
Failed to execute child process "red5.sh" (No such file or directory)
What can be the cause?
I've a problem with a SD card with Ubuntu Remix 9.10.
Thanks to a USB Key with Puppy Linux I've changed the menu.list both in sda1 and sda2 adding:
Code:
# This entry automatically added by the Debian installer for an existing
# linux installation on /dev/sdb1.
title Ubuntu 9.10 Remix, Linux 2.6.31-14-generic (on /dev/sdc1)
