[ubuntu netbook remix] cups restarting and random white screen samsung nc10

http://ubuntuforums.org – I recently installed UNR 9.10 on my fiancees samsung nc10 and she loves it, however there have been a couple of problems. Sometimes it will randomly goto a black screen and display a message about restart the cups server, but then it locks up and has to be restarted. There is no printer configured on her computer. Other times it will goto a white screen and flicker, which usually happens with firefox and I assume has something to do with the video driver or some X settings. I tried looking around but didn't find anything else about this. Hopping somebody had solved the same problem or knows what it might be. Thanks in advance Andrew (Hardware)

I am running jaunty remix on a Samsung nc10. For about two weeks now, I often get a completely blank, white screen. This frequently happens at start-up. The screen is blank but I hear the prompt for user name and password. I can enter them, and some time later, I will see the desktop.

I have recently switched to ubuntu 12.04, I used to be a windows user and my teacher convinced me to use ubuntu. I love it!

Laptop with fresh Ubuntu 12.04 installation may get white or black screen upon log in. The default purple background appears for a bit, but then entire screen turns white or black while mouse is movable. It may or may not give a message says that need restricted drivers.

Yesterday, I added a network printer at my institute. While trying to print for the first time, the computer asked for authentication, then complained of low disk space.

I have been trying forever to use the S video to my TV, but it refuses to work. I can see the picture on the tv, but it flickers and scrolls. It is also in black and white, but on a actual monitor everything is fine. I changed all the settings in display to see if anything works yet it refuses to. Not sure what to do at all. Really want this to work so I can finally see it on the TV.

Hi all bit of a noob, Could not find section for my phone! Samsung Galaxy 5 gt 15500 Froyo 2.2 Anyway downloaded z4root using QR from this site V1.3.0, thread closed so could not post there. Tried to root but it did not root. Tried z4root again and just got a white screen , waited for a while nothing happened, just a white screen, pressed home and returned to home page OK.

I have a eeePC1000HE and use a 24" LCD screen (Samsung P2450H) in the office. The netbook screen works fine on its own. But as a dual display, my netbook screen is too small (800 x 600) and while the picture fills my large screen but has the wrong resolution.
