Recently, I have installed ubuntu netbook remix and I am pretty satisfied with it. On an eeepc 1005 ha everything seems to be recognised by default. I am not sure how the chipset is handled (which includes the GPU), but the rest is Ok. The CPU switches to a good power management, the sound, webcam, wireless all work out of the box. And it is surprisingly how slim the distro can be kept.
Hi all,
I have recently bought a Sony Vaio Netbook VPCW12S1E, with Windows 7 Starter installed on it.
I would like to install Ubuntu's Netbook Remix on it. I have made the bootable usb stick, but the problem is I can't find how to enter it's bios to make the netbook startup from usb.
Hey guys, i recently installed the 9.10 Netbook Remix on my netbook, but the new menu just runs dog slow on my netbook. Is there anyway i can get a regular looking desktop while still keeping the Netbook remix version on my netbook?
Hi all
Feel like a holiday away from Windows again so was looking at the latest Ubuntu offerings. I want to install it on my Acer Aspire One D250 (1,6GHz, 1Gb Ram, 160Gb HHD). I see they have a Netbook remix as well now but the few posts I've read does not sound to promising.
What do you guys think/suggest ... remix, desktop or server?
Thanks.
I'm planning on purchasing an Eee Netbook after the holidays and want to put linux on it. I've run Ubuntu for a couple years now and really like it but I want to make sure that I get the most out of the netbook. I've been doing some research and I'm not exactly sure what to do.

Hi,
Just taken the plunge and installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix on Toshiba NB200 netbook. All seems to be fine other than no sound!
In Windows, my first port of call would be device manager - is there an equivalent thing in Ubuntu? If so, how do I get there?
