[ubuntu] Neither Broadcom B43 nor STA driver is working.

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi I just deleted my windows XP and installed Ubuntu 9.10 earlier this morning. I used wired connection to get drivers for my wireless network card. When I did lspci, the very last line states: Network Controller: Broadcom Coporation BCM4311 902.11b/g WLAN(rev 01) I used the System -> Administration -> Hardware Driver and found 2 drivers. I have tried them both to connect to my D-Link Router. Neither of which worked. For Broadcom B43 Driver, the wireless is able to detect wireless networks. However, it fails to establish connection. For Broadcom STA Driver, the wireless cannot even detect wireless networks available. What is the issue here and how do I resolve it so that I am able to connect onto the internet wirelessly? I recently came upon a Dell 1545 Inspiron laptop and decided to put a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. At first I couldn't connect to the internet because I did not install the driver for my wireless card (broadcom 4312), but then I installed the first of the two drivers under the proprietary drivers list, it was the Broadcom b43 wireless driver.

It seems a lot of people are having this problem, but none of the posted solutions have worked for me so far. My driver is installed and activated, I have tried removing and re-adding the network, and various other fixes.

I need to get the wireless working on this HP dv9005us, I ran lspci and it says the card is "Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN (rev 1)" and so far I've tried the method that says "Installing drivers for the BCM4311,4312,4321,4322 Cards" on this page and in hardware drivers it says

I've recently installed Lucid Lynx 10.04 on my Dell Studio which uses an internal BCM4315 wi-fi card to connect to the internet. I was hoping it would work upon the install, but deep down I knew I'd have to tweak it a little bit to get it up and running the way I wanted.

The card was instantly recognized but, at first, wasn't detecting wireless networks.

I have a new Dell Precision M6400 core I7 laptop. i am not able to connect to wireless network.

i tried all options in the config guide but still was not successful. In the additional Drivers window i see that it is using Broadcom STA wireless driver.

My laptop (Dell Inspiron 17R 5720) came with preinstalled Ubuntu 11.10. I removed it and installed 12.04. Now I can't find driver for wireless. Apparently, in 11.10 there was Broadcom-STA driver. But in 12.04 there is no additional drivers to install. I tried using:

sudo m-a a-i broadcom-sta

But building fails on 26%.
