http://ubuntuforums.org – I am making new a Desktop for Ubuntu 9.10 and some Windows 7 usage probably in Virtualbox :). My main goal is to build a budget computer for around $600, but I may go a little higher. It's main function will be storage & general usage and some gaming (with wine not windows :)). Here's my list: Quote: COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail ASUS M4A78 Plus AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail ASUS ENGTX260 GL+/HTDI/896MD3 GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail BFG Tech GS-550 550W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.8 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply - Retail A-DATA G series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model ADQVE1B16KG - Retail AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor 2.8GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor Model ADX240OCGQBOX - Retail Please let me know what you think of it, if something is too weak or wrong hardware. I'm kinda new to buying computers. :/ I'm a little worried about the video card and the case. Will it even fit? And Should I set up the processor a little? It's kinda on the low for this build. NOTE: I haven't decide if I'm going to get a harddrive for this build, I have a couple extra. THANKS so much for any future advice Attached Images ubun.png (128.7 KB) (Hardware)
