[ubuntu] need help with online videos

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello, I need help with online video players. I just installed ubuntu 11.10 about a week ago on my ASUS n50v. I updated everything and installed flash. everything was working fine. then the software center showed a few updates. I installed all of them. since then I cannot watch videos on some of the websites. Youtube works fine ... but videos on CNN, BBC, Facebook.... none of those work. when i click on videos on fb it says that i need to install adobe flash. when i check in the software center it says that it has already been installed. I would really appreciate some help with this since i (Hardware)

hi... I was installed ubuntu 11.04 5 month before, starting i was installed flash player and it was working properly,,but form last 2 weeks i cannot watch youtube videos or anyother videos. its shows only blank screen in video side... and I tried to uninstall and install it ,but problem exists..can anyone help me for this,

Hi, I just installed Fedora 16 and am using Firefox.

When I go youtube, at the top of the first page it says "You need to upgrade your adobe flash player to watch this video".

In a fresh installed or upgraded Ubuntu, first thing to do is install flash plugin for web browser to enjoy flash videos. As a beginner, we use Ubuntu Software Center to search and install applications. In Ubuntu 11.10, the Ubuntu Software Center shows two: Adobe Flash Plugin 10 and Adobe Flash Plugin. I selected Adobe Flash Plugin 10.

Who likes to watch stream videos inside the flash videoplayer? Not me.That's how I got rid of it.First of all you have to install the flashblock plugin in your browser (there's a version for chromium and firefox). Other browsers, like xxxterm can be configured to obtain the same result.

I've been trying to watch webm videos on youtube lately with only partial success. Some of them play alright, while others request Adobe Flash. For example, this video requests flash, and this one plays without.

Video doesn't work 25 weeks 1 day ago

Just installed Fedora 17 64 bit, and no video works. That includes youtube or any other online video. My own personal videos also don't work. The error message for youtube is that I need to install Adobe Flash. When I click the box to install it through Yum, it says it is already installed..

Hello, I ve installed ubuntu 12.04.1 on my pc, (athlon xp 2200 - ATI Radeon 9800)

and when I go to YouTube with Firefox, the videos won't play... they load, but all I get is a black screen. The same happens when I navigate facebook, the embedded videos won't play.

the flash player plugin is installed, and also shockwave flash...

what could be wrong?

When I open the Unity Launcher and click on the last icon for videos, I get three lists: Recently seen, My videos, Online videos

Online videos is listing videos, that I consider highly inappropriate (for example a video trying to convince people with a live threatening dease to have faith instead of visiting a doctor).

How is that list generated? How do I deactivate it? Why does it show those v

Flash not working in Firefox 1 year 21 weeks ago

I have installed Ubuntu 11.10 in my system with gnome shell.

When I try to watch any videos on any video streaming website in Firefox, I am not able to watch. At the same time those videos can be played in Chromium browser.

I have already installed Flash 11 and the Flash plugin for Firefox as well.
