I have just purchased an Acer Predator G 3610, and will in this respect install Ubuntu 12.04 on. However, I have run into some problems.
When I insert the installation disk, in comes a kind of dos screen with three options, not the normal Ubuntu installation screen. The three options are try Ubuntu, install Ubuntu, or check the disk for errors.

I’ve just created a new Ubuntu Live USB using the Ubuntu StartUp Disk Creator. And now I am running Ubuntu 11.04 from my USB Flash disk without problem. But, everytime I boot my computer with the flash disk containing Ubuntu 11.04, the welcome screen appears and asking where I choose to install or keep trying [...]
I have been trying to dual boot ubuntu with windows 7 via WUBI on my custom built pc
but without success. When i start the computer i can choose windows or ubuntu i choose ubuntu and when i should get to the login screen the screen just stays purple/pink. Tried safe mode but cant get in there either. I have tried reinstall but did not work either.
Hello! I had to re-install Ubuntu yesterday because my hard drive broke and I had it replaced. It booted up fine at first and I've had two or three normal sessions on my laptop but now suddenly when turning it on it won't get to the Ubuntu screen.

I'm an intermediate level user and may be the cause of my own problems. I'm using a Mac Pro 1,1. rEFIt installed but buggy. When I could not get rEFIt menu at boot I opened Mac System Preferences and in Startup Disk found the Ubuntu disk.
Hi, I'm having some problems installing 12.04 desktop on my asus k53sv laptop.
I have a 500gb disk which has a 150gb partition containing windows 7, which I've been using for some time.
I recently install the latest version of Ubuntu and it went perfect. Since that is stuck in login screen and I can't even type anything from keyboard and use my mouse to do something. Then after 5 mins. it does black like its in idea mode and stay as same condition for while. I have to turn it off manually and on to get to my home screen or login screen.
