I am running Ubuntu 12.04. I have an ASrock motherboard with built in audio. When I listen to audio of ANY kind it stutters and makes audio clicky noises like when you plug in speakers and they click as you plug them in. I am new to Linux so I am not sure if there was some sort of driver that I was supposed to install that I did not?
I looked some new motherboards and most of them has these audio chips:
AUDIO: VT1708B
AUDIO: Realtek ALC1200
AUDIO: Realtek ALC800
Plese, let me know, how can I check, if they are supported in kernel 2.6.30?
I looked at alsa page, and no information I have seen there.

Hello
I have a motherboard AsRock N68-S
It has audio onboard VIA VT1708S. It works fine.
I am very surprised when I type this:
Code:
lspci -nn | grep Audio
I got this:
I have an issue where my desktop has a damaged primary audio jack, and so I have to use one of the others repurposed as the primary. Windows Vista and 7 have this option available with relative ease with the Realtek sound manager(?), but I was curious if there was any way to repurpose one of the 4 other audio jacks on my motherboard to act as the primary audio out for Ubuntu.
Hello
I want to buy a new computer.
I had a look at this motherboard. I will play movies HD.
ASUS M3N78-VM
I was wondering if kernel 2.6.30 will supported it fine.

Dear!
I have a motherboard layout ICH7/ICH10 (South brigde). This mother board has 4 ports SATA2. And I have a Port Multiplier support SATA2.
I would like to build driver for control Port Multiplier via SATA2 port built-in on this motherboard.
--> Is this idea feasible?
Well I'm doing a upgrade and i cant get the onboard audio on the motherboard to work by messing with alsamixer. it is not muted.
I have it set to pulseaudio.

Hello everyone.
As the title says, for some reason I can't hear anything when I plug headphones to the front audio.
I thought maybe my hardware is defective since I googled and didn't find anything regarding the same problem with the same motherboard I have, but everything works fine when I boot Windows 7.
In Kubuntu the back panel audio works just fine, even the front record works, just the fr
