I am an English speaker who is trying to improve my Spanish comprehension, so I want to be able to download spanish language books to my ereader, and when I come across a word I don't know, I'd like to be able to touch it, and have the translation appear.
I am currently using gnome on Fedora 11 and English is the default language on the system. I was able to figure out how to make it possible to add Spanish characters when I type (like ñ, ó, é, etcetera). I also figured out how to install Spanish dictionaries for the software I use that commonly does spell checking.
Hi,
I am learning Shell scripting on my own.
I am trying to write a script which is used for language translation.
Before starting writing Script, I want to write down all the steps to be followed.
My Approach:
1. Download the dictionary(Spanish to english) to convert given file from Spanish to English.
--My question here is, how do we link the downloaded dictionary to script.
TweetI believe most of the computer users use dictionaries a lot. I have been using gnome-dictionary for a while. Its default settings are to fetch information over the Internet, but it can be easily configured to work offline.
I'm looking for a offline traslator for ubuntu 12.04. I like GoldenDict, but I can't find dictionaries. I have looked for them on google a lot but i can't find anything. I know about babylon dic .bgl, I've downloaded some of them from babylon.com but it's a .exe file, I tried every app to extract it (7zip, rar, ark etc...) and finally I succeeded but there were no .bgl files in the archive.
Which is the best offline dictionary for Ubuntu ?
It should be like Cambridge or Oxford dictionaries with pronunciation.
The dictionaries, I found did not have enough examples of the sentence in use nor do they
tell a lot about meaning.
First of all: CrunchBang, Openbox and Debian rocks!
