[ubuntu] Nautilus - not as bad as we feared

http://ubuntuforums.org – I just opened nautilus after not updating for a couple of days, and it seems most of what we thought was being removed, is back again. The latest changes in Nautilus file manager are causing lots of controversy.

As many features like extra pane, tree view etc. have been removed in Nautilus 3.5.90, Linux Mint and SolusOS have already forked Nautilus 3.4.2 as Nemo and Athena File Manager.

Now Ubuntu 12.10 has also reverted back to Nautilus 3.4.2, just couple of days after the new Nautilus 3.5.90 landed in Quantal.

A new version of Nautilus file manager has landed in Ubuntu 12.10.

The features(less) gnome 3.6! 35 weeks 5 days ago

I used to be the guy who liked fedora for gnome 3, until gnome 3.4. Gnome 3.6 has cut down a lot of features from the previous versions of gnome3. I don't know why.

1. The nautilus 3.6 has been chopped of its arms and legs. They made it totally useless. They moved the things in nautilus for no big valid reason. Just see how many features have been removed from nautilus.

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if someone could run the setting configuration by me to get my server online so that I can access it over the internet and not just local (LAN).

Ok so I installed this version and got the old gnome back. Whether I used Unity or Gnome the resolution was off. Finally I discovered CCC for adjusting the resolution. Good news is that both my monitors work, the bad news it duplicated the stuff on my pc interface. Idk how to explain it but i adjusted it again and it made another one.

I do have restricted extras installed. I tried another DVD drive

I will have to boot windows and see if there is a hardware issue.

About a week ago I hit a combination of unknown keys while the downloads folder was open . As a result the size of the folder icons, thumbnails, and files was reduced, but only in the downloads folder.

Hi there, first time posting here. I seem to have run into a problem with setting proxies as the button to apply it system wide is missing. I've tried searching this forum and around the internet but with no luck.
