[ubuntu] Mouse issue: jumping from sides of screen

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey everyone, So I've recently upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 on my laptop and desktop. Desktop works fine... laptop has this funny issue: When I use either my trackpad OR my wireless mouse, if I put my pointer on the right side of the screen and scroll all the way to the right, the mouse seemingly goes "through" the right side and ends up on the left side of the screen (ie where my unity bar is). This does not happen on any other edge of the screen. It may be my imagination, but the mouse feels faster horizontally than it does vertically too. Any ideas? (Hardware)

I am looking for help with my mouse every time I turn on my laptop and log into ubuntu 11.10 mouse mouse is not on the screen except when i move my mouse over to the left on the icons there it is i log out and log back in the mouse is on the screen my laptop is a compaq presario v2000

All works fine until I move the mouse cursor on the monitor to either the bottom of the screen or to the right of the screen. It then disappears from the monitor and re-appears onto my laptop screen. There is no way I can then get control back onto the monitor screen.

I've been having this issue for a long time without being able to resolve it, and I would really appreciate some help on the issue.

I have a Samsung RF510 laptop, which features an evdev trackpad. The trackpad works fine, but on linux the pressure detection is way too sensitive and leads me to constantly click the mouse while I'm coding.

After upgrading from 11.10 to 12.04 on a Thinkpad W520 system all mouse/pointer input devices (on this machine that includes the so-called 'TrackPoint pointing stick', a 'TouchPad', and, what I actually use, a generic wireless USB mouse) fail to work properly. The pointer is 'stuck' along the left edge of the screen.

Hi. WHen I move my mouse pointer all the way to the right of the screen it instantly jumps back to the left side of the screen. How the hell do I fix this??

When I add an extra screen and try to move the mouse between the two screens, the mouse cursor is blocked on the edge of the monitor and I have to move the mouse faster to reach the second monitor.

When I googled for this problem, the solution seemed to be the deactivation of the sticky edge option for monitors (Diplays settinngs).

After some googling, and finding very old bugs (7.04 ubuntu, and without fixes).

Issue : 1) Let laptop sit for a while 2) Screen first goes black (backlight works) 3) Screen goes fully dark (laptop is still on) 4) attempting to "wake" the laptop by moving touchpad, or keyboard fails to work.

Yes, I adjusted the mouse preferences first. The sensitivity is all the way down. I don't feel that did anything.

Hello, I'm on a Lenovo Thinkpad. My mouse is way too jittery. For example, if I just place my finger on my trackpad without moving it, the mouse will wiggle around quite a bit on the screen.
