Hey guys,
I have a big question and I was wondering if any of you can help me out. I recently upgraded my Ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10.
Upon booting it up, I have complete access to my keyboard and mouse. The problem arises however, once I select Ubuntu in my dual boot option, I lose mouse and keyboard functionality.
I just recently decided to install the most recent Ubuntu version on my Dell XPS 15z running Windows 7 (in hopes of using it to code).
However, after installing, I realized that neither my keyboard nor my mouse worked with Ubuntu. I couldn't move or type. It works with an outside keyboard and mouse, just not my laptops trackpad and keyboard. How do I fix this?
I'm currently dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 Gnome Shell Remix. On a newly built machine. Everything is working amazing except for my keyboard and mouse when switching OS's. If I'm in Ubuntu and restart into Windows 7 many times the mouse will not work or at the least the scroll wheel until I disconnect and reconnect the USB dongle for the mouse.
Hi, I just installed ubuntu 11.10 alongside with windows 7, I have the both operativesystems on two different partitions. But when I start up ubuntu my ordinary mouse and keyboard doesnt work, it's a razer naga mouse and a Microsoft sidewinder keyboard. If I unplug those and plugin an old mouse and keyboard I can log in to then unplug those and use my primary instead.
I've been trying, unsuccessfully for a few days to dual boot Win 7 and Ubuntu on my PC. Previously I had Vista 64-bit installed and so I decided the way to go would be to wipe the hard-drive and start all over again. Having got a Windows 7 upgrade license though, I had to leave the Vista partition intact.
HI I own a HP TX2510Z laptop running Ubuntu 12.04 and I been having problem with the Keyboard's cap lock never turning off. It just keep flicking on and off which will cause an anyance when typing as ever other letter will be capitalize. It dose it as well when it boot up as well so I don't think it a problem with Ubuntu, but a hardware issue.
I bought a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. I plugged in the usb receiver and followed the directions. Nothing happened. I left it plugged in and continued to use the PS2 keyboard while trying to resolve the issue. During this time I decided to upgrade to ubuntu 9.10.

Hi.
I have a Dell Studio 1715 laptop, which comes with bluetooth, webcam, fingerprint reader, everything. I enjoyed ubuntu a lot in this laptop.... until I met this problem.
I bought a bluetooth laser mouse, which didn't work for me before. Can't remember the brand... now it happens all over again with a brand new mouse, so it can't be the mouse itself.
