[ubuntu] Monitor not waking up when connected with DisplayPort cable

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hallo, I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 with latest updates on HP desktop computer with embed sandy bridge intel graphic card and onboard display port connector. The problem is that, when the monitor goes to sleep and it is connected to the display port, it will never wake up. I have to hard restart the computer. The issue in not there if the monitor is connected to the VGA port. Also I've disabled computer sleep or monitor locking but, after a while the monitor goes to sleep anyway and it never wakes up. Is someone having the same issue? The issue was not showing with Ubuntu 10.04. The installati (Hardware)

Hi all,

I have a usb mouse connected to my ubuntu machine through the usb hub on my monitor. Normally it works just fine. However, when the monitor goes to sleep and wakes up, the mouse no longer works.

The scenario is like this:

- the computer is in use, mouse works just fine

I have a 13" MBP running Fedora 18. When the systems goes into powersave mode and shuts off the display (which I would like it to do after a period of time), the laptop screen wakes from sleep, but the 30" external monitor does not. If I unplug the monitor and plug it back in it restores the display.

Not a major issue, but a bit of an on-going annoyance. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have the same issue on two laptop computers with Intel Graphic Chip sets.

1st Laptop - Intel GMA 4500

Laptop display resolution is fine however external monitor will not go higher than 1024x768. On windows this computer manages 1366x768 with the same monitor.

2nd Laptop - Intel GMA 950

Laptop display resolution is fine however external monitor will not go higher than 1024x768.

We have about 80 systems running ubuntu 12.04 64bit desktop edition. We are facing a strange problem. Everything works fine except that after the monitor goes to sleep, if we don't wake it for long time then it stucks and won't wake up even if we keep pressing any key. But all tty consoles are working.

Hey, I just installed Ubuntu for the first time on my desktop (12.04) and am having some issues with my monitors. As it's probably important, i'll mention that i'm running an Asus GeForge GTX 670.

First problem is with my first monitor. It is detecting it as "Laptop" and allowing only two possible resolutions - 800 x 600 & 1024 x 768.

Hi!

I have really strange problem. I bought and connected CS 11 HDMI Y-Splitter to my graphic card (nvidia 450GTS) to multiply HDMI signal. One port is used to show picture on Philips monitor, and other on samsung tv.

I'm trying to set up a dual monitor machine with an Intel DH67BL monitor, Ivy Bridge i5-3450 CPU and dual Samsung 204b monitors.

I cant seem to get the computer to recognize more than one of these monitors at a time.

I can get either monitor to work using the DVI port directly or with a DVI-VGA cable, or by using the HDMI port with an HDMI-DVI cable.

I have an issue with my monitor.

I just installed Ubuntu 11.10, but the monitor that is plugged in doesn't appear anywhere. And by doesn't appear, I mean that in the "Displays" menu, it doesn't even appear as "Unknown", I just have my screen that appears and nothing else.

It is connected through VGA, and the monitor is recognized with no problem on Windows 7.
