http://ubuntuforums.org – hi to all I love ubuntu and dont want windows anyway but my big problem is dialup internet i install a cxt driver for it but its speed is 14.4 and awfull and force me to use windows to connect to net please help me if there is a solve for it to full speed modem. my os is ubuntu 9.04 my modem is cxt thanks a lot (Hardware)

I have a Huwawei 3G Broadband modem which I use to connect to internet. Yesterday I updated my ubuntu from 10.04 to 10.10. I can successfully connect to internet using ubuntu and my 3g modem.

Problem 1 --------- My problem is my 3G modem keeps switching from 2G (GPRS) and 3G(WCDMA) networks. On Windows my modem has a option to connect only using WCDMA.

This happens often for my ubuntu 12.04.

I'm using ubuntu on my laptop and connect to internet via wifi.

Sometimes even though the connection is established with the modem I'm unable to connect to the internet.

at that times I'm also unable to connect to 192.168.1.1, which should give me the page to my modem even if there is no internet connection to the modem.

Okay, I'm running Ubuntu 11.04.

I bought a USB Extarnal Modem. Whice is controller based, I think thats a hard ware modem correct me if i'm wrong.

Right now I'm on windows and it shows the manufacturer is "Conexant" The thing is...how would I be able to use this in ubuntu. As I know winmodems does not work with linux.

Every time I restart my modem, I come across this problem: the modem is shown connected but no internet is available. ...

Hi all, I pay for 3Mbps service at my home, but it seems I never get that, or anything close. I have DSL, that connects to a zhone modem, then to a belkin N type router. whether I am on ethernet, or on wifi, I cna expect to get 300kbps tops. This doesnt change even if I ditch the router, and connect directly to the modem.

I have purchased new vodafone usb modem (ZTE K3770-z) and tried to connect it with ubuntu 11.04. But it is not automatically detected on ubuntu.

It does not exist driver available to support the modem. OKBut it doesn't exist another way to solve the problem ? I mean, using a generic driver.Before, I was on Ubuntu and the mo... [by wighou]

I have Ubuntu 12.04 and a 4G mobile broadband-modem called, ZTE mf880 ltf usb modem. Every time I loose internet-connection, Ubuntu seem to "loose track" of the modem and I have to pull it out and put it back in again, only to wait for Ubuntu to detect it again.

Ive been searching all over the internet and i cant find a driver or way to use my clearwire usb modem with kubuntu. ive found where several people have asked about it, but no one seems to have an answer for this. clear is the only access i have to the internet right now and will be for quite a while, and its a real pita to have to reboot to windows to do anything.
