Hello, and thank you in advance for helping me.
I got a HP laptop with ATI Radeon 4500 HD mobility series. I installed ubuntu 12.04, but noticed that the OS recognized my graphics as VESA: M92. Is this normal becuase i read somewhere that VESA: M92 doesn't give out the full performance of the graphics card. If so can I install a new driver that performs better?
Hello, So every time I try to change the compiz profile, it crashes and breaks my desktop. I then have to either unity --reset, or compiz --replace for it to work again.
I have ubuntu 12.04 with kernal 35, and compiz 0.9.7.9
Video Card is a ATI Radeon HD5000 series, using the ATI Radeon driver for ubuntu.
Does anyone know how to fix the bugs in compiz? Or have a different solution?
I am using ubuntu 9.04 on ATI RADEON HD 2400 PRO Card. After installing ubunbtu when i tried to enable ati restricted driver from system-hardware (for enabling 3d Effects ie compiz ) I found a blank screen and on above it shows "No Proprietary Drivers are in use on this system".
Just installed Fedora 12 on my new laptop and it has a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series graphics card, I was wanting to know how to install the restricted driver for it, in ubuntu it just has a pop up message that says the are drivers avaliable is there anything like this in Fedora?
I upgraded a Dell C610 from Ubuntu Lucid to Xubuntu Precise. Compiz worked just fine under Lucid, but I can't seem to get it to work under Precise.
Earlier tonight I had Compiz etc running happily on a ATI Radeon 3450 card. Then I tried to get things working with a second monitor which I sometimes use. Didn't like the result (esp as it killed Compiz) so went back.
Now I can't get the "Extra" visual effects enabled again.
Well I purposefully never upgraded my laptop (Thinkpad R40, with the card in the topic) mainly because I had the compiz working fine. I decided that I was going to go ahead with the upgrade though, mainly because I am in that kind of a mood, heh.
I have a bit of a trouble with screen tearing with my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470.
When I use the screen tearing option in Catalyst, the video have a very low frame rate.
When disabling the screen tearing option in Catalyst but enable Sync to VBlank in Compiz, the frame rate gets even worse.
What did help though is enabling Benchmark in Compiz (and using the screen tearing option in Catal
