I just installed Ubuntu on my laptop and I am running Windows 7 alongside of it. On Windows 7 I have Internet Explorer and Google Chrome which work and I can connect to the internet through them but when I switch operating systems and try connecting through Firefox on Ubuntu it doesn't work: it says "server connection not found" or something.
How can I connect to the internet on Ubuntu?
I have a dual boot system with Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I use Verizon Mobile Broadband (HP un2420) to connect to the Internet on the Windows side. When I use Ubuntu I can't access the Internet unless I use Barnes and Noble or some other WiFi offered from a local business. I do not understand why my Verizon access doesn't show in the wireless connections to choose from when I'm using Ubuntu.
Since I have 3 Network cards in my Desktop PC I've configured it to act as a Router using GNU/Linux Ubuntu Lucid in combination with Samba so I could share my internet connection.
I just installed Ubuntu on my laptop yesterday and it connected to the wireless fine. Then I took it to school, put it on their wired connection, downloaded some stuff, and now the wireless doesn't work.
At first it would detect networks, but not connect. I restarted it and now it can connect, but it acts like it doesn't have internet in the browser. Wired connection still works fine on it.
Can somebody please make a shot & sweet tutorial telling how to forward an Internet connection to different network interfaces in Ubuntu...?
This is the idea:
I'm using a 3G usb modem to get Internet on my laptop ,which is:

These devices are determined from ifconfig command.
I want to share ppp0's int
I installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my Dell Optiplex 745 today. I could not connect to the internet with the LiveCD, but I installed it anyway. It still doesn't work. This is the first time linux has been installed on this computer.

I have an laptop with OS Ubuntu 12.04. I am using an internet dongle(data card) for internet connection. I just purchased a new android phone(HTC ONE V). I want to share my internet connection of laptop with my android phone.
I have a dual boot system with Windows7 and Ubuntu 12.04 with wired internet connection. It is configured to automatic DHCP. The internet works perfectly well on Windows. But on ubuntu, the connection sometimes work, sometimes not. On most occasions, internet doesn't work. The indicator does say 'Connection established". I have tried other distros earlier with the same issue.
