[ubuntu] Missing messaging menu

I've written an indicator (in Python 3, PGobject, AppIndicator3) which hooks into the Ubuntu messaging menu. The indicator works on 12.04 (but I've not tested it on 12.10).

Today I installed 13.04 Beta 2 under VirtualBox to test the indicator.

I'm currently testing the Xubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 and the changelog states

Not sure when it happened, but my Messaging menu is now completely empty. I've tried to reinstall the indicator-messages and related packages, but still the same. Anyone else seeing this?

You likely won't want to upgrade to it yet, most likely result would be nothing in the menu (if the new gir1.2-messagingmenu-1.0 is installed then empathy will show

First download the indicator: download indicator-places It’s .tar.gz or .zip file. Extract and go into new created folder, and click to run indicator-places.py

I upgraded to Linux Mint 14 this morning and noticed that a few of the application indicators that I previously had installed are missing. When adding Indicator Applet Complete to the MATE Panel, the only indicators that show up are the network and sound indicators.

Hi Folks,I read on the forum that vlc has problems with something or other not that it seemed to affect me in any way but non the less I purged vlc and installed umplayer with no problems at all and as far as I know it works ok.
