Hello there. I have an acer aspire 5730zg and since I've installed ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 my microphone and card reader doesn't work. I have tried to make it work on both of them but I couldn't.
i tried typing on the console the following command: alsamixer I made sure that all the controls were on so I knew that I haven't muted the microphone. I'd apreciate if you helped me solve this.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 on a Acer Aspire One ZG5 (AOA 110), then Skype, and I can't make the microphone work. I tried this method with alsamixer
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne522#Microphone
but it doesn't works. The sound is not recognized by alsamixer, nor by the sound settings.
I just bought my new netbook Acer Aspire One 722. It works fine on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit version. Everything works good beyond microphone (external and internal). Internal works middling because it's very silent (despite the fact that in alsamixer is set to maximum, You can do something about it ?) and external doesn't work at all. When I connect external mic simply nothing happens.
Hello
I have Ubuntu 9.10 on my Toshiba Satellite P305 notebook with 2.6.31-12 kernel and have one little problem. My buld in microphone doesn't work. Then i try to record some sound, all, what i see is a little noise. The build in microphone it self exist in alsamixer and it set on maximum. It has worked before, then i have Windows Vista on this notebook.
I installed 12.10 on an Acer AOD250 machine, and it works really well(far better than I thought).
But the Mic is still acting a little odd.
I open the sound settings and the microphone there picks up nothing, along with Skype, though I ran Audacity and it gave me an option to choose the Mic(HDA Intel: ALC272) and it works just fine.
I opened alsamixer and turned the Mic up from there and it still
The model is Aspire 5552NWXCi, to be specific. Almost everything works (wireless, touchpad scrolling, multimedia keys, graphic) Some problem I found is the sound port, card reader, and microphone. Microphone doesn't work including internal and external...
When I run the Lucid Alpha 1 LiveCD from a USB stick, the sound almost works properly. I can hear through the speakers and record with the microphone. I decided to upgrade my Karmic installation in the hope that I would finally be able to use my microphone, but nothing I do makes it work.
Besides the problem in this thread, I have one other.
The integrated microphone on my netbook doesn't work.
p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } I have installed Ubuntu Netbook 10.10 on my Acer Aspire One D250 and I have no microphone input from the built in microphone. When I check Sound Preferences, input device tab I have no microphone listed at all. In the box labeled Choose a device for sound input; the only option in the box is Internal Analog Audio Stereo. Has anyone had this problem?
