This thread is the development thread for the Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch series tablets. We are trying to develop the patches to submit to the linuxwacom source.
This tutorial will show you how to install wacom tablet drivers on Ubuntu 12.04, 11.10 and 11.04 to make your wacom work properly.
Open terminal from the dash home or press Ctrl+Alt+T, add ppa:lekensteyn/wacom-tablet to your system’s repository:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:lekensteyn/wacom-tablet
Update and install wacom driver:
sudo apt-get install input-wacom wacom-dkms

I have an old Wacom CTE-440 and Bamboo Fun tablets.
I've tried installing the driver for them, file name "xf86-input-wacom-0.17.0", yet I don't know how to successfully get it to work.
I am going to buy Wacom Bamboo tablet, is it works with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit?
Are there other tablets out there which works with Ubuntu?
Thanks :KS
EDIT : Is it possible to use Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 as drawing tablet on Ubuntu? It's worth mentioning because it has offered 1,024 pressure sensitivity with its S Pen. It would be great if it works.
Hi, i don't know if i can help or not. But i just bought the CTH-470(M) today and have it working in Archlinux. As far as packages relating to Wacom, i am using the xf86-input-wacom-git, libwacom, wacom-utility and wacom-udev packages in the AUR.
Hi all,
I decided to write here because I was wondering if there are any Wacom Bamboo (MTE-450) tablet users who experience any resume problems with their tablets on 11.3.
I experience this issue on 11.2 - tablet was not working after resume from suspending to RAM - I had to replug it in order to make it work. Now when I upgraded to 11.3, the issue was still there.
Hello,
on 11.1 (64 Bit) I had my Wacom Bamboo working, using the manual I found here:

Hello,
I have a problem with autoconnecting/hotplug the Wacom (Bamboo, model MTE-450A). After a reboot the leds on the buttons are flashing and the tablet doesn't work, to get it to work I need to reconnect the USB cable to the tablet.
The system does recognize the Wacom, lsusb lists it but dmesg gives somewhat of a error during startup:
I was looking at ordering an extra stylus before my Note comes in, was wondering if anyone tried the Wacom yet. I use a Wacom Intuos tablet, and like their stuff, but didn't know if it was any better than say the pen with the eraser (the other one I was looking at). Wish Wacom had done an eraser since plan on using PS Touch a lot (I'm assuming the other pens eraser works in that?).
