After a fresh 11.2 KDE install on a second PC, the starting desktop exhibited a transparent panel, with "Desktop Folder" as a title, and five (5) icons. In the course of modifying the desktop icons, this was deleted. I have looked, searched, Google'd etc, to find a process to restore this transparent folder. No luck so far.
I found a way to make the icon backgrounds transparent for the Unity Launcher by changing the files under /usr/share/unity/4
Does anyone know how to make the background transparent for the dock itself? I already made it transparent under Compiz, but I want to remove the line that separates the dock from the desktop. If anything, I just want to make it look like the icons are floating.
I am trying to make the Unity3D Left Panel completely transparent, I have been able to get the top panel to be transparent successfully.
When I try and make the left panel with the icons transparent, I get a wierd brown Hue, I am unable to actually make it transparent
but the funny thing i when i click on the Dash Home and it opens up the Launcher, the bar and the launcher are completely transpare
How do I make shortcut icons on the desktop with the default Kubuntu 14.04 setup?
I did this before but can't remember how.
I don't want the icons to have those floating toolbars on the right side. (When I played around with making the icons in the past there was a way to make the icons that didn't leave those toolbars. I just can't remember how to do it.)
I'm tired of the desktop icons moving when I turn on my computer. I've unchecked "Auto-arrange icons" and "Allow themes to change desktop icons", but the problem persists. Here's a screenshot (I covered the stuff I don't want to share):
The majority of the icons were on the left side, with the Recycle Bin in the upper left corner.
