As you all probably already know, the upcoming Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) operating system will have a new default display manager, called LightDM.LightDM is an operating system's display manager, also known as login manager. Namely that after installing Ubuntu 12.04 and going to log in, I am met with a frozen slate of a desktop in which nothing loads (at longest I've sat for 30 minutes, reading, whilst nothing changes) and only the mouse moves.
Its not a blank screen, its the desktop that one is normally greeted with, just with nothing loaded.

Hi everybody!
I have a Dell XPS 17 64-bit with a nVidia GT555M. I installed Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit but I had to do it setting before installation NOMODESET.
At that point, if I tried to run the system in normal mode, it just appeared a black screen. On the contrary, running it by recovery mode (resume normal) it runned fine.
I've set up a kiosk using Ubuntu 12.04, and I'd like to have it autologin after a user logs out or if the screen locks, in case someone manages to get back to lightdm or tries to login to the non-kiosk account after a reboot. I've tried setting display-setup-script in lightdm.conf to run xautolock to trigger restarting lightdm, but that just causes Ubuntu startup in low graphics mode.
Ok, I wrote in my other thread, I'm new to Ubuntu. I'll change to it, but now I've got a test enviroment (with 12.10) on my notebook. So I can test it, and there's no problem if I make a mistake.
2 days ago after a reboot I got the message "The system is running in low-graphics mode" error... And I couldn't do anything.
This is simple guide about enable xdmcp service on Ubuntu 12.04 for user/root remote login.
