Hi,
I already had a ADSL modem. Netgear one. Now I brought a new wireless modem Belkin n150 basic. Internet is working fine. I have a ethernet cable running from Belkin(wireless) router to my PC. It is also working properly for wifi.
I just bought a TRENDNET TDM C4000 (=modem/ wiredrouter) and got it working. If I connect my computer with through the ethernet port directly, the internet will work. However, when I try connecting the ends of the ethernet cable on the modem and my wireless router, it's not transmitting. I know I set up the wireless router correctly because it worked with my previous modem.
Heres what I have:
Dell E6420 XFR notebook with the Dell DW5800 4G/LTE with GPS modem.
The Modem is AKA Novatel E362 or Gobi 4000 I think.
I've spent 3 days trying to get the modem to work and I have finaly got it working, I am posting this over the Verizon broadband modem and I did a speed test and got 7mbps inbound and 1.6mbps out.
I'm using the native Modem manager in Ubuntu 12.04 Lts d
I currently have the following setup: I have a cable modem that has a router hooked up directly to it and then all devices go through that router. My Ubuntu Server is also behind that router. When i go to use FTP through filezilla, i can't connect using my external IP address. Below are the logs from both filezilla and vsftpd as well as my vsftpd.conf file.
I have such network layout: internet comes true fiber optics to modem. From modem LAN cable goes to router. Since that router wifi signal is weak LAN cable goes to another router from which I connect true wifi.
TL;DR - Modem > router > router with wifi > me.
Browser connects just fine.
Complete novice about wireless setup/use.
I need a yes/no answer as to if what I want to do will work and if yes then what is the term for the setup so I can search for some information.
I have a desktop pc connected by ethernet cable to a Modem/router/switch that came bundled with our connection.
Dear Sir,
I want to test the VOIP Telephony system installed in a IP PBX server behind a NAT router. This NAT router connects to a modem (with NAT as well), and then the modem (with static public IP assigned by the ISP, e.g. 219.45.67.80) directly connects to the Internet. There are several IP phones connect to the IP PBX server. The NAT router is configured as DHCP, and as a gateway (e.g.
Hi,
I am using Ubuntu and need to set up the wi-fi. My current internet connection is via a wired ethernet cable without a Modem. But in almost all the cases of setting up process they say,"Connect the wire from the modem to the router.", while setting up the router.
