[ubuntu] Lost network connection

http://ubuntuforums.org – I trialled Ubuntu 10.0.4 via my CD yesterday and managed to connect to the internet. When I next started Win XP I found that I had lost my network connection. The card does not show in device manager so I finally installed a new card to try to solve the problem. Although this one is recognised by the device manager and I can set up a LAN, I still cannot get online. It's not a problem with the broadband router or the isp as I can connect wirelessly with my laptop. Any suggestions as to what may have happened or is it just coincidence? (HowTos)

I have a Dell d630 with a bcm4311 wireless card. I entered the SSID and mac address of the at&t router and the password and no connection. It doesn't even see the network.From network connections I choose "add" and it wants to add a VPN connection. How can I make the card active and connect to the Internet.

I have a ZTE-AC2726 Broadband USB MODEM and I am having a problem connecting.

It used to work perfectly well with Previous versions of Ubuntu but not with 12.04, which I am currently using.

I need help is establishing connection and I don't know where to start looking. Network-Manager, Modemmanager and usb_modeswitch are all in place. Network manager detects my said device as modem...

I found a tutorial online on setting up Opensshd-server. everything works fine when I try ssh user@localhost

but when I try to connect though another computer on the network it gives me:

Connection Lost pool-my-ip-address.plspca.dsl-w.verizon.net/my.ip.address:22 - Connection Refused

i also tried different ports which I have forwarded on my router but it doesn't connect.

I'm on Ubuntu Maverick (10.10). I've read a few threads regarding wired connection problems, but haven't found a solution yet.

The problem appears after I connect to a wireless network. When I disconnect wireless and plug in an internet cable, the wired connection is not recognized at all.

I am on Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit, fresh install. I have a wired connection (eth1 interface), the IP address is assigned by DHCP, and PEAP authentication (wpa_supplicant) is set up.

My problem is that network does not start at boot. I have to log in without internet connection, and then I have to start network-manager manually (sudo start network-manager).
