I have managed to lose the internet connection on a redhat linux server (it was able to connect to the internet previously). I'm thinking it dropped out after I entered the command 'service NetworkManager start'. Network manager was not running before (I was trying to work out how VPN can be configured on linux).
I have since restarted the server, but still no internet connection.
Hello world,
I'm experiencing a problem where (usually) a few minutes after booting and logging in to Ubuntu, my internet connection is lost. Or perhaps not "lost", but tabs in Firefox keeps loading, so I don't get an error message but nothing happens. Spotify runs fine btw.
For some reason I've gotten this feeling that it's not a problem with Firefox, but something in Ubuntu.
Hi everyone, I have installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my desktop PC, via the Wubi installation. Everything works perfectly smooth, but the internet connection. As I'm surfing the web, or using git, or IRC, the connection is lost and engage over and over again, several times per minute, 1 of 3 or 5 requests gets to work properly.
I asked in the IRC Channel but anyone could help me, so I'm trying here.
My Ubuntu 12.04 LTS lost Internet connectionor it just acts like it have lost Internet connection.. When I go to terminal in says: user@(none) when I preform sudo comand it says sudo: unable to resolve host (none) and preforms the command. I trialled Ubuntu 10.0.4 via my CD yesterday and managed to connect to the internet.
When I next started Win XP I found that I had lost my network connection.
The card does not show in device manager so I finally installed a new card to try to solve the problem.
Although this one is recognised by the device manager and I can set up a LAN, I still cannot get online.
I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 two days ago. I have a dell Studio XPS 1645. I changed my internet to WPA2 yesterday, and it connected and worked fine. I turned it off and when I turned it back on today it finds the connection, does the connecting thing (where the picture goes around) then says it is disconnected as if I lost connection.
Hi,
I am using a Belkin WiFi stick on my PC. I can connect and have internet but after some time, the internet connection is lost. The stick is still connected to the AP (I can see it on the AP and in my local connections overview) but I cannot use the internet anymore. If I start a ping after I got a connection it will remain until shutdown.
