I'm running ubuntu 12.04. After turning my desktop off for a couple of days, I lost internet connection.
I am new to linux, and I'm not sure how to solve this problem.
I brought Dell Inspiron N5050 few months back. from day 1 i am getting problem with wired connection, i am able to use web browser for few minutes then all of the sudden i lost internet connection but i don't know why transmission is still able to download torrent from internet.
Ffter some experimens i lost internet connection.
I tried to install on Centos with gnome additionally KDE
yum groupinstall "KDE Desktop"
but i had few issues to switch to KDE
so i decided to remove KDE.
yum groupremove "KDE Desktop"
But after reboot, i lost connection to internet and NetworkManager icon from top pane.

I have managed to lose the internet connection on a redhat linux server (it was able to connect to the internet previously). I'm thinking it dropped out after I entered the command 'service NetworkManager start'. Network manager was not running before (I was trying to work out how VPN can be configured on linux).
I have since restarted the server, but still no internet connection.
Hi everyone, I have installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my desktop PC, via the Wubi installation. Everything works perfectly smooth, but the internet connection. As I'm surfing the web, or using git, or IRC, the connection is lost and engage over and over again, several times per minute, 1 of 3 or 5 requests gets to work properly.
I asked in the IRC Channel but anyone could help me, so I'm trying here.
Hi i am using hp probook 4440s i am using the internet using wifi connections using the university wifi but fom last few days i can't get the continous internet connections whenever i connect too the network it work for some time but very slowly and after sometime i lost the connections and the menu shows that no internet connection s.

I'm experiencing a problem where (usually) a few minutes after booting and logging in to Ubuntu, my internet connection is lost. Or perhaps not "lost", but tabs in Firefox keeps loading, so I don't get an error message but nothing happens. Spotify runs fine btw.
For some reason I've gotten this feeling that it's not a problem with Firefox, but something in Ubuntu.
My Ubuntu 12.04 LTS lost Internet connectionor it just acts like it have lost Internet connection.. When I go to terminal in says: user@(none) when I preform sudo comand it says sudo: unable to resolve host (none) and preforms the command. If I try firefox nothing happens but when I try pinging it delivers everything (only if it have been pointed to a IP address).
1 installed ubuntu 11.10 with windows 7.The problem is i lost internet connection with windows 7 and have the same internet connection with ubuntu.What can i do to have internet connection to both ubuntu and windows?To try to make a new internet connection with windows will weork?Anyone has the same problem?:popcorn:
I had Ubuntu 12.04 previously installed on my Laptop and i was having problems in connecting to internet (I was connecting to Wifi), and Chrome and Firefox both showed "Connection to Server lost", and when i tried updating through terminal it was also not able to connect to internet, but my bittorrent client was connecting fine to Wifi internet connection.
