Hi,
Hopefully someone can help an absolute beginner!
I'm not able to receive a download speed of more than 56 KB/s using Ubuntu Release 12.04 (precise) 32-bit, Kernel Linux 3.2.0-41-generic-pae with the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 interface on a Dell XPS L502X laptop.
I just got a new wireless router (Asus WL-520GC). I can connect to the Internet, but I can't access 192.168.1.1 to configure the router (this is the correct address, according to the manual).
I'm connecting to my wireless, but I can't connect to the Internet, not even via an IP address. Thanks in advance...
(*) Can not open web pages via IP address.
(*) Can ping internal hardware no problem.
(*) I can connect to the Internet via Ethernet no problem.
(*) I used to be able to connect via wireless on this computer. No settings changed in the interim.

I'm puzzled.I have a laptop with a wireless connection. Sometimes when I boot up it seems that I do not get fully connected to my router. Skype, Pidgin and Chromium don't work . BUT I can see other wirelesses. I can even connect to an unsecured wireless. I can "disconnect" from my router, wait and "reconnect".
I am having troubles with my wireless connection to my Verizon MI424WR router. I have used both wicd and networkmanager and both can connect but I get very slow connection speeds (~25 KB/s download) and am occasionally losing packets when I ping sites. I have previously connected to other routers without any issue, so I believe the issue to be with the connection to the router. W
I've a dlink di-524 as main router (192.168.0.1) connected to Internet and
a second router (192.168.0.2), a tplink wr841n, with WDS enabled and correctly
configured to "join" with dlink.
After I connect via wireless a laptop (192.168.0.100) to tplink and both work
good but with the laptop I can't go to Internet.
It seems as WDS not work.
With the laptop I can only ping the tplink but other ping

Hi guys.
I don't know much about wireless, so here is a question for you all.
I recently moved to a new place, which is cool. Unfortunately the modem sits in one end of the apartment and the office is at the opposite end, and routing an Ethernet cable is pretty tricky since I rent and can't really drill holes in the wall.
