I have SANE and SANE-scanner installed in my Ubuntu 12.04 box. I have an Epson V500 flatbed scanner, tied by USB to my machine. On my network I also have an HP All-in-One that has scanner functionality. Both are detected by the computer as scanners. I want to always use the Epson scanner but can't find a way to tell SANE-scanner to use the (second listed) Epson scanner.
I recently installed Crunchbang on my desktop computer, which has been my scanning workhorse this far. I have an old Agfa Duoscan F40 flatbed scanner and on WinXP I used Vuescan, which also works on Linux, for all my scanning. After plugging in the scanner (USB) and turning it on, and launching Vuescan, the application doesn't detect the scanner.
I am relatively new to Ubuntu and Linux in general.
I recently purchased a Brother all-in-one MCF-6490CW because I needed a large flatbed surface for scanning books.
I was able to install the driver and scan with XSane, gscan2pdf and via the command 'scanimage' but I am absolutely unable to batch scan multiple pages from the flatbed.
If you don't have a scanner you can't provide any help, sorry
I am working on a update to my PHP Scanner Server
and I could use some sample scanner info, if you can post the output of this here using code tags or http://pastebin.com/]pastebin
If you only have 1 scanner
scanimage -L;scanimage --help
If you have more than one scanner
do this, i will need the output of every command
I recently upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10 and since then I havent gotten my scanner to work.
The latest iscan-packages are installed and sane seems to find my scanner but despite that the following error messages appears in xsane and iscan.
