I've searched the forums and the googles for guidance on this but haven't found anything yet.
I hide usernames on the login screen and I would like to do the same on the lock screen. I would be happy with hiding my name or username (full name appears by default) or being taken directly to the login screen from lock. Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance!
I would much rather the lock screen to go back to the login screen but can not seem to figure out how...
I have my desktop set to autologin and then run "gnome-screensaver-command --lock" as i want to be logged in for when i connect though SSH. Its nothing major but would make it look nicer every morning and when i get home.
using ubuntu 11.10 with gnomeshell 3.3.2
Sorry, I am new to android. When I setup lock screen and turn off, the screen does not have the lock screen I setup when I turn it back on. It still show the swipe screen, no pin lock or password screen. Now if i power off and reboot then it show up. Also if I set up a type of pass lock then I can't use the lock widget anymore. It just won't show when I scroll right or left.
I'm running 11.2 with Gnome and have noticed a pretty serious privacy issue. I have the screensaver configured on my system configured to blank and lock the screen. Whenever I leave my desk I lock the screen using the lock applet however if I am away long enough and if there is a maximized application it appears on top of the screensaver at some point.
It happens like 50% of my Suse 11.2 startups, when I type in my password at login screen and hit enter, Gnome do not start, i can only see the green blank screen,or sometimes it start to show only my custom wallpaper and nothing more, when i try ctrl+alt+backspacex2 and login again everything seems to work fine, but what could be wrong ? is it a hardware issue ?
This is certainly not game-changing or life-altering, but a question about Ubuntu has been nagging at me.
Why is it that when a user locks the screen (or the screen is locked due to inactivity), the machine doesn't simply go straight to the login screen. The little dialogue that is shown has nothing to offer that the login screen doesn't have.
I'm using GlSurfaceView to draw my game.
I recently upgraded to Fedora 18..I'm using gnome.. If I lock the screen, I cannot unlock it easily..
That is, I enter my password, click login.. The login button gets grayed out, and nothing.. It just waits.
See attached photo: This is what happens after I click login..
Update: I found a weird work-around: I clicked suspend on that login screen. Nothing happened..
Just wondering if its planned for Precise to make the lock screen mimic the polished look of the LightDM login screen. The login screen looks fantastic now, but the lock screen looks subpar. This seems to be an area that has been overlooked in the past.
Thoughts?
