I have no real specs on this computer, but I can tell you that it was bought circa 2008 and is really slow. The main reason I want Linux on it is that Linux is simple and doesn't catch viruses, and pretty much the only thing the owner's will use it for is for internet browsing.

This weekend, I decided to install a new distro on my netbook. I saw Linux Deepin just released a new version so I gave it a try. And it was a right decision, Linux Deepin is really a perfect distro in my opinion.
Linux Deepin overview
Linux Deepin is based on Ubuntu ( I guess it must be Ubuntu 12.04 LTS).
I have downloaded a lot of Linux distros [both 64 and 32 bit], but I seem to have a problem when it comes to installing a 64 bit distro on my desktop gaming computer. My Samsung series 3 laptop [4 core amd cpu] has no problem installing a 64 bit distro, but when it comes to my gaming computer it is another matter.
i am a linux user for year now, but i have some problems...
No distro will work properly with my acer TravelMate 5735,
i have tried these:
Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Backtrack, Mint, Fedora, Mageia;
All of them at least had blank screen error, witch some of them i could temporary fix with nomodeset, some of them not. Mint wouldnt even load the GUI, and in ubuntu wifi worked slow as hell.
