[ubuntu] LibreOffice Writer Problem

http://ubuntuforums.org – Just update, Clean install, from 10.04 LTS to 12.04 LTS. Disappointed that OpenOffice was not included. In any case, attempting to use LibreOffice Writer was extremely frustrating and I still have not accomplished what I need to accomplish. When I open LibreOffice Writer, click on File -> New -> Labels the program responds by closing. When I attempt to restart I have to Recover the document. Have restarted Ubuntu and Writer several times. It seems on my system that the problem is 100% consistent. Are other experiencing this same problem? It seems that all other items under th (Hardware)

When I minimize an open document I am working on in LibreOffice Writer, it disappears into the launcher panel. It does not show any little white arrow beside the LibreOffice writer icon. When I click it, it opens up a new document. I cannot get my original document back unless I do Super+W.

Does anyone have a fix, or is this a new bug? Running 12.04 LTS.

Hello,please excuse my bad english.I have a problem. Since the libreoffice update from 3.5.6 to 3.6.1.4 libreoffice don't start. For a short time i see the splash-screen and that's it. In the terminal, when i type soffice or lowriter or libreoffice --writer i can't see any message. Also i deleted the ~/.config/libreoffice folder. But that doesn't help.

I'm trying to make a shortcut for Libreoffice Writer but it's not working.

I have a new and unusual problem which I believe may have started when I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10, but which may have occurred later.

When I first boot up my computer and start LibreOffice Writer, everything seems fine. After about two hours of switching back and forth between various applications, I start to notice slow scrolling.

Some PowerPoint presentations (.ppt files) seem to be trying to open in LibreOffice Writer.

When opening the file, it asks for a character encoding, then opens as a Writer document with gibberish in it.

After upgrade to Ubuntu 12.10 writer disappeared so I installed it via software center but now my Writer look like this:

How to revert to default theme so it looks exact like rest of system. I'm using Ambience theme.

I really like LibreOffice however I'm having issues with it freezing up and I can't seem to start a new instance of the writer on multiple desktops (I'm using dwm and want several documents open).

For this reason, I need a writer application (don't use spreadsheets or presentations that much) that has all the features of LibreOffice but can be launched independently of other instances.

I just upgraded to quantal and I'm working on a paper in libreoffice writer and have noticed a number of bugs. ](*,) After saving the paper, the menu items have disappeared. I can click the menu title but no menu items show up.

I want to open LibreOffice and Zotero at the same time as LibreOffice has to have Zotero running in firefox or stand alone to use the LibreOffice plugin.
