I just upgraded from 9.04 (where my fan never seemed to run) to 9.10 NBR on my Asus Eee 1005-HA. Now it seems that my fan only turns on or off when the laptop is restarted. Earlier I was working on the laptop and it was fairly hot. I restarted (for an unrelated reason) and the fan came on. It stayed on for an excessive amount of time, until I restarted.
My laptop display shockingly turned black, but if looking robustly you can tranquil barely see what is on the screen, like the screen saver turned it self on, but I restarted my computer many times and it loads up but still no outcome. Would you have any suggestion what to do? Except exchange new part.
I have a rooted galaxy nexus. Earlier today I downloaded an app to change the boot animations. Everything was working fine. I started to explore other boot animations. I was letting the program (from the market) download and install them. I installed one and went to preview and the screen turned black and stayed black. I pulled the battery out the back and restarted the phone.

I have my Galaxy Player 4.0 for a month now, but recently I've been experiencing this Force Close problem.
Few days ago I downloaded Angry Birds from the Market, in the middle of the download process a pop-up window suddenly appeared. There was a Force Close button but it can't be clicked. It all happened so fast I didn't have time to read the whole warning.
About an hour ago, my screen suddenly went nearly black (black but still powered on) and no key sequences like ctrl-alt-f1 did anything. The only way out that still somehow worked was pressing and holding the power button, resulting in a shutdown. I don't know why it happened. I had 5 tabs open in Firefox, and two Leafpads open, so it could have been a lot of things.
I have installed ubuntu 12.10 after installation every things worked fined and for 2 weeks I've had no problem . yesterday I tried to log off and log in again but when I logged off it showed me a black screen and nothing happend I've waited for 30 minutes but still it was black . I had to press my laptop power button once to shut down my laptop.
I've had this problem on ubuntu 12.04 too.
I am using 12.10. When I suspend and resume, I get a black screen. It is not a case of backlight being turned off.
I am not sure if I should file a new bug report or just follow this bug report.
Any thoughts regarding this are welcome.
I love my lixux 12.04..till yesterday it installed new updates and i clicked on restart..
As system went to grub all normal & loaded normal..then instead of pretty desktop (auto login turned on) i have black screen asking for login and password..
Why? How i get my desktop back to before?
