Being that my Kodak printer (I will no longer get any more kodak printers) doesn't work properly any more (see How do I get my Kodak ESP C310 Printer to print pictures?) and tomorrow being tax free weekend starting up, I wanted to see what people (you) thought would be the best printer to get that's compatible with Linux.
One that's ink lasts a long time and when it does run out, it doesn't cost
We currently have a Kodak ESP 5250 which is a fantastic AIO printer/scanner under Windows so sadly we have vbox installed just so we can print and scan stuff properly as Kodak offer no Linux support for this device at all.
I have a HP deskjet 3050 which is a printer/scanner. The printer was added to my network using a WPS pin through my router. The printer works fine, it is detected on my network and prints in Ubuntu12.04. However when I try to scan with Simple Scan (for example) I get a message "No scanner detected".
I have a Kodak ESP C310. I had no problem finding it on the network and adding it but whenever I go to print a test page, nothing happens and nothing is queued.
Okay so I bought a Kodak all in one printer/scanner/copier and was able to get a driver for the printer to work, but not the scanner; so I kept my old hp 3-in-1 so I could scan and it was working great. Thing is I think when I tried installing sane from the git repository because it supposively would allow the Kodak scanner to work, now the hp scanner won't be detected.

I can print fine, just cant scan over the network. I used to be able to when I had Linux Mint, but cant seem to get it to work in Fedora. No, I'm not going back to Linux Mint.
hey guys i ran into a small problem i downloaded the proper print and scan drivers for my printer and installed them using terminal i can now scan documents by typing scangearmp into the terminal and i can print too.
the problem is that when i print a document my printer will keep the printing the same document over and over again it seems like there is a never ending print job going on any ideas
Here is my problem: my printer and scanner (HP psc2410xi) prints darker than the photos taken and teh scanner has a background fuzz. I want to create and install files to have the printer lighten the photos it prints (yellow becomes dark yellow, etc) and delete the "fuzz" from the scanner image (you can see it on a blank scan and yes I did clean the scanner).
Hallo everyone, here i am with the next little problem:i installed simple scan with synaptic but i can not find the way to let it run my printer/scanner.The fact is that because i cannot save anything on the desktop i cannot run the fie i download from the hp site, hplip, through the terminal.Any suggestio?Must be honest, if i can handle to scan my documents it will mean Crunchbang, Debian and Ope
