[ubuntu] Keyboard/mouse doesn't work during installation

I know that they are working because when I am in BIOS, the keyboard works. I already try to do everything: • Installed a external keyboard (this keyboards is working on the BIOS too) • Try to use another copy of Ubuntu 12.04 AND 12.10 • Reconnect the keyboard cable. • Try to install Ubuntu with a bootable pen-drive But the problem persists. What can I do? (Hardware)

I'm trying to install 12.10 on my system, but my mouse and keyboard are not working during installation. I use the Logitech MX5500 Bluetooth mouse+keyboard combo with a Bluetooth dongle.

My keyboard and mouse work in my UEFI bios, and during the Windows 7/8 installation.

Here's the issue. I'm installing Ubuntu on my bosses HP. LiveCD and install work just fine. After install, the mouse and keyboard just stop working. The keyboard works up to the login screen. at that point not even the numlock/capslock work.

Its a HP Pavilion pj508aa-aba a710n with a HP/Asus Kelut 2.02 MB and a HP keyboard and mouse (from a different system).

I just recently decided to install the most recent Ubuntu version on my Dell XPS 15z running Windows 7 (in hopes of using it to code).

However, after installing, I realized that neither my keyboard nor my mouse worked with Ubuntu. I couldn't move or type. It works with an outside keyboard and mouse, just not my laptops trackpad and keyboard. How do I fix this?

Hey guys, I have a big question and I was wondering if any of you can help me out. I recently upgraded my Ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10. Upon booting it up, I have complete access to my keyboard and mouse. The problem arises however, once I select Ubuntu in my dual boot option, I lose mouse and keyboard functionality.

Yesterday my computer stopped working... I traced the problem to the /etc/group file... which had somehow gotten completely wiped. I copied a few examples to make a new one and I can get back to the login screens for the GUI...

while I'm able to use my keyboard in the 'safe' command screen mode to edit files, etc., once the GUI comes up the keyboard and mouse are disabled.

I switched on my laptop this morning (HP Compaq nc6320) as usual and tried to log in, only to find that neither trackpad nor keyboard were working! If I reboot into a recovery mode shell, the keyboard works until I move on to normal boot. If I boot from an Ubuntu install disk (run from CD), both trackpad and keyboard work. Everything seemed OK last night when I shut down.

I recently upgraded to 12.10 from 12.04, I have a wireless Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse (both ise the same dongle) my mouse works but the keyboard doesn't (it types random things) but my wired keyboard works just fine, is there a fix for this?
