I have an MSI GX660R which was pre-loaded (for some unknown reason) with an Intel Rapid Storage RAID-0 array accross both disks. Windows, with the Intel Rapid Storage and Intel 5 series chipset drivers, runs really quite quickly on the laptop but Ubuntu... not so much.
On laptops much older and less powerful than mine, Ubuntu can boot in less than 30 seconds.
Hello,
Ever since I switched to Ubuntu 12.04 the scanner on my Epson Stylus NX230 won't work. At the same time I started running lUbutntu because the regular version is too fancy for my crappy old computer. The scanner used to work when I had whatever version I had before, but now when I try to scan an image using either Scanner Utility or Simple Scan it says no scanner is connected.

I have an Epson Workforce 610 printer connected to my wireless network. How would I setup this printer in Ubuntu? Under OS X I just went into printer setup and it automatically showed the printer being available. I did some searching and installed the Avahi Zeroconf Browser, but nothing's showing up (aside from my own computer).
Thanks in advance!

I have just installed an Epson WP4535-DWF Ethernet connected printer on 192.168.0.19 (Reserved ip).
It's working under Windows 7 and XP clients....
Now I want to access it from my Ubuntu 11.10
I came across this site
http://www.openprinting.org/printers
Which says this model of printer works very well under Ubuntu
(And there seems to be at least three different drivers for it !!!!!!!!!
Hoping someone can help.
I recently re-imaged my desktop with Ubuntu 12.10. I have HPLIP version hplip 3.12.6-3ubuntu4 installed.
I am trying to set up my HP D110 wireless printer.
I previously had this working with Ubuntu 10.x, and just recently upgraded to 12.04 (64 bit).
I had installed the driver from Epson: epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.0-1lsb3.2_i386.deb, and now also tried: epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.2-1lsb3.2_i386.deb but neither worked.
> sudo dpkg -i epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.2.2-1lsb3.2_i386.deb
